Description

All her life, Bea has wanted nothing more than to become a sniper on the wall and earn the coveted ink of a Dread warrior - a mark of distinction among her people. She knows that one day the terrifying Erebii might break through the city's outer defences, and if her people aren't prepared and the wall is breached then the last human city will fall. But everything Bea thinks she knows is about to be challenged... What does the ink really do as it flows underneath their skin and who is the mysterious Unwanted boy that keeps appearing in her life?

Author description

Amanda Holohan was drawn to the craft of writing at the age of six when she wrote her first poem. What followed was a deluge of poetry, comics and novels, scrawled in battered half-used workbooks, diaries, and on whatever paper she could find. She has always been an avid reader and when not scribbling could often be found under a tree in the garden reading a book or a comic. The stories that inspired her were always gripping, often full of magic, wonder and adventure. Amanda studied media and literature at Macquarie University, then she headed overseas for adventures of her own. She has lived in England, Holland and Ireland, and currently resides in the beautiful Blue Mountains, west of Sydney, with her husband and daughter. She has worked as a waitress, travel advisor, bookseller, editorial coordinator, freelance writer, book reviewer and copy subeditor. Her first published novel, The King's Fool, was shortlisted for an Aurealis Award and included on the NSW Premier's Reading Challenge booklist. Her latest novel, Unwanted, is due out in February 2015.
