September 2012-December 2013 / Elul 5772-Tevet 5774 From everyday rituals to annual ceremonies to once-in-a-lifetime events, Malcah Zeldis's thirteen paintings in this calendar capture the fine threads connecting the spiritual and the domestic. The first twelve months of this sixteen-month calendar each feature a colorful reproduction accompanied by explanatory notes. The last four months are grouped on one page, also accompanied by a painting and a commentary. The calendar includes Jewish holidays, days of the Jewish year, weekly Torah readings, and a list of candlelighting times for selected cities. All of Pomegranate's calendars are printed using soy-based inks on FSC® certified paper, which means the paper has been certified by the Forest Stewardship CouncilTM and manufactured by an FSC® certified printer. FSC® certification promotes responsible forest management by ensuring that forestry practices are environmentally responsible, socially equitable, and economically viable.
